Hi!

I've seen some of you guys using various 3D modelling systems (like Maya and XSI) on your notebooks during the lectures :-P. Lately, by reading through the SIGGRAPH 2006 report on gamedev.net [1] , I discovered the modelling package "modo" by luxology [2] in its current version 202. I checked out the luxology website for some further information, watched the demo videos there and i was impressed by the intuitive user interface and smooth workflow. So I downloaded the 30 day trial, but didnt have time to play around so far. Does anyone out there have experience using modo 202 or previous versions, especially with applications to realtime 3D graphics/games? What do u think about advantages/disadvantages of modo, compared to Maya and XSI?

With its focus on polygonal and subdivision surface modelling and the intuitive interface, i think that, at least for the computer game industry, modo is an interesting alternative to much more expensive solutions like Maya, XSI or 3D Studio Max.
